Description
A shoulder lock that attacks the rotator cuff by rotating the arm behind the back while controlling the wrist and elbow.
History
Named after Masahiko Kimura, who famously defeated Helio Gracie with this technique in 1951. It's one of the most versatile submissions, usable from virtually every position.
Technique Notes
Grip opponent's wrist with same-side hand. Thread other arm under their arm to grip your own wrist (figure-four). Keep elbow pinned to your body. Rotate arm behind their back toward their head while lifting elbow.
