Description

An arm triangle choke where the attacker threads their arm under the opponent's armpit and around the neck, locking behind the head.

History

Named after Joe D'Arce, who popularized it in the early 2000s, though variations existed in catch wrestling as the 'Brabo choke.' Keenan Cornelius, Renzo Gracie, and many others have made it a staple of their games.

Technique Notes

Thread arm under opponent's armpit and around neck to the far side. Lock figure-four grip behind head. Walk hips toward opponent's head while squeezing to finish. Key detail: angle must be correct with your chest facing opponent's side.
