Description

A collar choke where one hand grips the collar while the wrist loops over the opponent's head to create pressure.

History

Popularized by Marcelinho Matheus, the loop choke is an opportunistic attack often caught during transitions. It's particularly effective when an opponent tries to pass guard.

Technique Notes

Grip collar with thumb inside, 4 fingers gripping fabric. As opponent moves head over arm, loop wrist over their head. Close elbow and pull collar while driving wrist into neck.
